News from all product areas
As a manufacturer of integrated visualization solutions, eyevis presents the use and interaction of products from all development areas at ISE. From the display hardware department there are new and further developments for DLP rear projection cubes, small pixel pitch LED modules and video wall LCDs. The IT department presents the latest generation of video wall controllers and software applications for professional video wall management.
DLP® cubes with laser, high brightness LED, energy-saving or super slim
Rear projection cubes in all their diversity are one of the focal points of eyevis appearance at this year’s ISE. As a world first, a cube based on the latest LED technology is presented, which promises unprecedented brightness values for LED cubes. In direct comparison, this is installed next to a development study of a laser cube, which in addition to high brightness provides pin-sharp 4K resolution with 3840×2160 pixels. A video wall composed of eyevis TRP cubes shows that DLP Cubes can also be very inexpensive and very energy-efficient, while offering all well-known DLP cube advantages at the same time. With the slender SLIM Cubes, which stand out for their shallow installation depth, eyevis‘ answer to tight installation environments is also present on the stand.
New LCDs for video walls and high-end signage
The flat panel display division of eyevis is bringing further developments of the existing portfolio to Amsterdam. With the new 49-inch version, eyevis adds an additional size to its eyeLCD portfolio for seamless video wall LCDs. The company’s comprehensive 4K/UHD display series has been extended by a 75-inch version, which will also be present at ISE. With its NetLink solution, an extension option that provides control of the eyevis LCDs via Ethernet connections as well as system health monitoring, eyevis is showing the series-ready version of this system this year.
Front-Service Indoor LED modules with finest pixel pitch and lossless signal feed for LED video walls
The growing demand for narrow pixel pitch LED indoor video walls has been answered by eyevis for years with its high-resolution LED modules from the ePANEL series. These are presented on the ISE with a pixel pitch of 1.2mm with an innovative front-service mechanism that moves the LED boards motorized out of the module and thus allows access to the inner components. This allows the installation of a video wall directly on the building wall without additional space on the rear side.
The modules from the eSLIM series come with a slightly larger, yet still fine pixel pitch of 2.6mm. Their flexible and lightweight design allows easy handling and even their use in the rental area.
In order to be able to offer solutions from a single source in the field of LEDs, eyevis has developed its own solution for the signal processing operations of LED modules. Eyevis-typical high-end quality is achieved here by the high bit depth and lossless transmission to the modules. Each of the scalable processors is capable of streaming signals up to 4K resolution to the modules over standard Ethernet protocols.
Latest generation IT solutions for professional video wall management
eyevis‘ eyeUNIFY, the web-based video wall management software, will control the image sources on the various video walls at the eyevis booth in its latest version. Platform-independent eyeUNIFY is the only open source solution for video wall management in the world. The software particularly stands out for its code transparency, the associated security and its high level of flexibility in adapting to customer requirements.
The hardware platform uses split controllers from the netPIX series. In addition to revised existing versions, also a new, purely software-based netPIX. This new "Software Defined Controller" (netPIX-SDC) focuses primarily on today’s common transmission of video and data signals over IP networks. It offers a powerful decoding core, as well as control and distribution of the signals to connected display hardware. In modern IP-based systems, this can save a large part of the usual hardware, which in the past was required by a high number of physical inputs and a corresponding number of required input cards. As a stand partner, Teracue, eyevis’ subsidiary company, shows how to get the image signals into the network in the best possible way.
On the way to Amsterdam with heads held high
After the announcement from the beginning of December last year that provisional insolvency proceedings were opened for eyevis GmbH, the waves have smoothed out in the business operations of the German large-screen specialist. Therefore, eyevis also wants to use the appearance at ISE to set a sustainable sign of life on the market. "Nothing is sure until the ink is dry, but we are firmly convinced of the continuation of the company," Wolfgang Schön, CEO of the eyevis Group, summarizes the positive mood in the company. He adds: "Customers, suppliers and especially our employees are pulling together in the right direction, which is not a matter of course in view of the provisional insolvency proceedings we’re in."
Regular updates over the past few weeks informing customers and suppliers about the company’s continued operations have helped to avoid a loss of image and trust. The M&A process, which had already begun before the preliminary insolvency, met with great interest from potential investors. Upon receipt of the first bids, they are currently being reviewed by the administration to decide which prospective buyers will enter into further negotiations. The number of interested parties is therefore sufficiently large to offer the responsible committees a selection of new owners, into whose happy hands eyevis GmbH will be handed over after successful negotiations. The sale is expected to be completed in spring of this year. The financial security of the company, which largely results from the existing trust of customers, suppliers and banks, also allows a longer continuation of the independent business operations of eyevis GmbH during the procedure, so that a decision about the new owner in the nearer future, but also does not have to be taken hastily.
eyevis, the German manufacturer of large scale video systems, is one of the leading providers and integrators of visualization systems for professional applications in control rooms, virtual reality and simulation as well as broadcast and AV. eyevis has a worldwide network of subsidiaries and certified retailers. As one of only a few providers, eyevis is capable of offering entire systems from one source. The complete solutions of eyevis include display solutions, graphic controllers, software applications as well as all necessary accessories.
