The forwarding company Mahlstedt GmbH domiciled in Delmenhorst, a city in Lower Saxony in Germany, has included 30 new Kögel Port 40 Simplex container chassis in its fleet. Mahlstedt has been dealing with shipping containers since it was first founded. This means that the forwarding company has 40 years of experience with shipping containers and knows precisely what matters. For this reason, Mahlstedt is also going to rely on Kögel quality for its container chassis. The Port 40 Simplex container chassis with a pneumatic rear extension, weighing in at just 5,200 kilograms in its basic form, with a technical gross tare weight of 41,000 kilograms and a fifth-wheel load of 14,000 kilograms, is ideal for transporting 20 and 30-foot ISO containers, as well as 40-foot Highcube containers.

Versatile and simple to operate

In addition, the Port 40 Simplex scores with the forwarding company with its ease of use, thanks to pneumatic pressure at the press of a button. For a longer lifespan, the rear extension on the Port 40 Simplex features a low-maintenance guide on special plastic sliders and two extension rollers. To make it easier to load and unload the containers from a ramp, the container chassis are optionally equipped with an optimised rear section. This means the vehicle can get closer to the ramp, and the gap between container and ramp that needs to be bridged with a drive-over panel is reduced accordingly. The container chassis is suitable for transporting a 20-foot ISO container flush-fitted to the rear with a retracted frame. If the rear extension is extended, then a 40-foot Highcube container or a flush-fitted 30-foot ISO container or two 20-foot ISO containers or a centred 20-foot ISO container will fit on top.

A wide range of Mahlstedt-specific features

Of course, the Kögel container chassis is also available with a wide range of individual equipment for the most diverse of requirements in the various fields of use. The individual equipment on the Mahlstedt container chassis includes, for example, an ADR adapter box, LED reversing lights, a tyre pressure monitor and filling system, a telematics system, a toolbox and much more.

Cathodic dip-paint coating: lasting protection from corrosion

On Kögel Port 40 Simplex container chassis, the entire vehicle frame is given long-lasting protection against corrosion by nano ceramic technology and cathodic dip-paint coating, supplemented with a coat of UV varnish.
