In 2016, TÜV Rheinland was selected as authorized testing service provider for the Sigfox Ready™ certification program for end products, and it now has the world’s largest Sigfox™ laboratory network. Its product test centers for Sigfox™ applications are located in Asia, Europe and USA.
Key driver of the Internet of Things (IoT)
Sigfox is a wireless network provider for the Internet of Things, and is committed to the implementation of individual, license-free standard for low-power WAN technologies. These wireless technologies enable the low-cost and energy-efficient transmission of small data volumes over long distances – a crucial prerequisite to connecting ever more objects to the internet. “With its technology, Sigfox offers a particularly low-energy and cost-effective option to connect things to the internet and has therefore become a key driver of the Internet of Things (IoT),” explains Stefan Kischka, Vice President Wireless/Internet of Things at TÜV Rheinland.
With the entire range of Sigfox™ testing and certification services, the testing service provider will also be able to offer its customers regulatory approvals as a one-stop service.
“In addition, this portfolio expansion is a further milestone that underlines our global commitment in the field of wireless technologies and brings us another step closer to the fulfillment of our TÜV Rheinland Wireless Strategy 2020,” reports TÜV Rheinland wireless expert Bircan Taşlica, Global Head of Technical Process Optimization Wireless/Internet of Things.
Thanks to this diverse expertise and its resources, TÜV Rheinland distinguishes itself as a testing service provider that can cover all the wireless communication service needs of a customer, regardless of its industry, globally and comprehensively—providing consulting services, test solutions, market access analyses for new technologies, but also independent tests and certifications.
