mediCAD Hectec GmbH, Landshut, Germany today announced the launch of mediCAD® Classic as an integrated partner application in Siemens Healthineers’ syngo.via, an intelligent imaging software for multi-modality reading.

The partnership of Siemens Healthineers and mediCAD Hectec is focused on technological development, marketing, and commercial activities to advance digitalization and to simplify processes in orthopedics and radiology.

mediCAD® Classic is the most recognized global orthopedic planning solution, helping to ensure a high level of surgical planning and quality control. mediCAD®’s high-performance modular software provides information to determine, display, calculate, and document the most effective alternatives before surgery, in a compact format that is easy to understand.

mediCAD® will be available through syngo.via OpenApps, the integrated store that connects syngo.via to the Siemens Healthineers Digital Ecosystem[1]. Through the store, customers will be able to download a 30-day trial version of mediCAD® as well as to directly request a quotation.

Currently, mediCAD® Classic is a software package that combines patient images and an extensive database of digital implant templates from 130 manufacturer to perform preoperative planning. With the addition of mediCAD® as an integrated application in Siemens Healthineers syngo.via OpenApps, radiologists and surgeons will be able to seamlessly and directly access the mediCAD® applications without additional IT infrastucture or needing to start the software separately. Additionally, within syngo.via, mediCAD® Classic will be updated to the latest software version and prothesis database on a regular basis.

“We strongly believe that this offering will advance clinical practice by combining cost-effective and efficient workflows with the full functionality of the well-known mediCAD® Classic software. Therefore, we are very proud to partner with Siemens Healthineers on their aspirations in the digitalization of healthcare”, states Jörn Seel, CEO of mediCAD Hectec in Germany.
