MSC Software Coporation (MSC), a global leader in simulation software and services, is looking forward to participate at Vehicle Electronics & Connected Services. Vehicle Electronics & Connected Services is the largest automotive conference in Northern Europe taking place April 2 to 3, 2019 in Gothenburg, Sweden. MSC is exhibiting and presenting a paper focusing on the importance of simulation to achieve safety in autonomous vehicles. Participants of Vehicle Electronics & Connected Services will learn more on technical innovations and innovative software solutions that will have a major impact on the automotive industry in the near future.

Vehicle Electronics & Connected Services (former Elektronik i fordon) is being held for its 14th year and has grown to become the leading Scandinavian event in the automotive area focusing on the strongest industry megatrends. It’s a meeting place for vehicle manufacturers and the entire supply chain expecting over 900 engineers, business developers, development managers, CTO’s and CEO’s. Vehicle Electronics & Connected Services will offer an extensive program with up-to-date discussions, visions of the future, research and trends.

MSC will participate at Vehicle Electronics & Connected Services with an exhibition booth and a presentation. Visitors will get an answer to the question why simulation is necessary for autonomous driving development. Within this context MSC will present its state-of-the-art solutions Adams and Virtual Test Drive (VTD) from VIRES.

Dr. Luca Castignani, Autonomous Driving Strategist at MSC, will give a speech on April 3, 2019 at 14:40 titled The Importance of Simulation to Achieve Safety in Autonomous Vehicles. This presentation will deal with these questions:

  • How to evaluate millions of realistic conditions and scenarios?
  • Why a realistic perception is crucial to simulation?
  • How to use simulation to design your road testing?

These challenges can be faced with Adams and VTD from VIRES. VIRES as well as MSC are part of Hexagon. Hexagon has a comprehensive strategy for autonomous driving simulation and testing. Through a series of acquisitions (MSC, VIRES, AutonomouStuff) and indigenous domain expertise in metrology sensors, GPS software, smart city and positioning intelligence solutions, Hexagon has a unique leading edge autonomous driving simulation and testing toolset which is the largest footprint by far and includes solutions for these domains: Vehicle CAE Modeling, Sensor Measurements and Modeling, 3D Environment modeling, Scenario Testing, Data Management, Artificial Intelligence Driver and above all, an open platform on which to integrate these.
