Effectively countering cyber hazards for industrial sites
Operating plants and systems reliably and safely is a central aspect in industrial production. TÜV Rheinland teams of experts have been commissioned by companies around the world for decades to ensure the greatest possible availability of operational technology (OT). The goal is to increase efficiency and reduce downtime. A study published by TÜV Rheinland in early 2019 shows that many companies are unaware of the dangers of cyber attacks to their OT systems. TÜV Rheinland is therefore investing significantly in solutions for the secure operation of the digital factory. TÜV Rheinland is presenting these services, many of which are new, at the Hanover Fair.
Another topic is digital requirements in municipal areas. The key challenge is how cities and municipalities can tackle the digital handover. With the rapid development of networked technologies and the expansion of the 4G and 5G networks for tomorrow’s smart city, the challenges are growing. Individual consultation is necessary to ensure that digitalization projects are not doomed to failure from the outset. TÜV Rheinland is therefore focusing on the topics of “critical infrastructures,” “networked solutions” and “smart data.”
