With their exhibition stand at interzum 2019, SWISS KRONO Group will focus on four global megatrends: customization, connectivity, urbanization and health. The manufacturer of wood-based materials will be dedicating special themed sections of its stand to each of these megatrends. At the same time, these themes will provide a foundation that ties together all of the innovative products that will be showcased at the trade fair – products that offer solutions in line with these trends and cater to the individual needs of various customer groups.

On a guided “Customer Walk”, visitors will have the chance to tour the stand and gather inspiration based on their individual tastes with respect to the trends and trend-related products.

“We are passionate about using wood efficiently and sustainably, and about designing sophisticated, contemporary living and working spaces,” says Martin Brettenthaler, CEO and Chairman of the Board of SWISS KRONO Group. “The rise in urbanization, growing awareness of health and wellness, advances in communication technology, the push for self-determination – all of these societal changes are creating new requirements not only in terms of living spaces, but also in terms of fostering a working environment that inspires us to develop creative solutions and concepts for our customers.”

SWISS KRONO product highlights at interzum 2019:

ONE WORLD Collection – for individually designed living spaces around the world

A total of 31 new plain, wood and design decors have been added to the furniture board collection. All of the ONE WORLD Collection’s 71 decors can be easily combined with one another to create a variety of looks. This makes it possible to bring a wide array of design ideas to life in different spaces. The new decors are based on the latest interior trends Japanordic, Warm Vintage, True Bohemian and Urban Minimal. This selection allows everyone to create and implement their own truly individual interior design styles.

Alongside these designs, SWISS KRONO will also be presenting its newly developed One Vision surface at interzum 2019. One Vision is a universally applicable wooden structure that meets customer requirements in terms of natural materials and feel. In an increasingly digital world, haptic sensations are more important than ever. We are no longer satisfied with merely seeing; we want to touch and feel the world around us. And our desire for unique haptic experiences continues to grow.

ONE WORLD AR Interior Designer app – linking digital and real spaces

This intuitive app not only offers users a digital version of the ONE WORLD Collection, but also includes a unique and extremely useful special feature: conceived as an augmented reality app, it allows you to find the perfect designs for your interior spaces. Each decor can be projected onto any surface using your smartphone’s camera. This allows users to combine and try out different decors in their own space in real time.

In order to depict the highly detailed surface structures as realistically as possible, we scanned every decor from five different perspectives. This also allowed us to capture the gloss levels, three-dimensional surface structures and light-absorption properties of every decor and recreate them authentically within the app.

We were also able to define all of the attributes of the decors for BIM use during this scanning process. The data is saved as RAW files (uncompromised) so that it can be integrated loss-free into all existing and future data management systems and BIM platforms. With this app, SWISS KRONO Group is laying the foundation for future-oriented, innovative and digital applications in the interior design and building materials industries.

The app is available for free in the App Store and Google Play for iOS and Android devices.

BE.YOND – the furniture panel board with the emission level of trees

The newly developed BE.YOND particle board is the most environmentally friendly product of its kind on the market. It is manufactured with the bio-based EcoSynthetix adhesive system, which uses DuraBind™ biopolymers and corresponds to the strictest requirements in terms of indoor air quality. The emission level of BE.YOND particle board is equivalent to that of trees (0.01 ppm). It will primarily be used to make furniture, but will also be used for interiors. “We spend most of our lives indoors, which means that we are constantly in contact with building materials that affect our health and wellness,” says Georg Mäder, CSMO of SWISS KRONO Group. “With wood-based materials that are manufactured in an environmentally friendly manner, SWISS KRONO Group is doing its part to promote sustainable construction practices and healthy lifestyles. Wood and wood-based materials are natural materials that contribute to a healthy interior climate.”

C-HPL – continuously produced decors in a range of widths

With their new internationally positioned collection, SWISS KRONO Group is presenting a wide range of HPL products. The C in C-HPL stands for “continuous” and means that the material is continuously manufactured on a state-of-the-art conveyor system. This new system allows SWISS KRONO to offer continuously produced HPL in two widths (2,080 mm and 1,320 mm). The product range also includes sheets (5,600 mm) and continuous rolls as standard.

Another innovation: SWISS KRONO Group is the first HPL manufacturer to successfully combine decors and surface textures in one continuously produced synchronous structure. Alongside classic designs, the company also offers “high-gloss", “super-matte” and “anti-fingerprint” surfaces with thicknesses of up to 1.2 mm. Naturally, the Group can also produce flexible C-HPL with a thickness of 0.15 mm.
