- 50 Kögel Cargoes of the NOVUM generation
- Two Kögel Cool – PurFerro quality
The Dutch forwarding company Combinex B.V. is incorporating 50 Kögel Cargoes of the NOVUM generation and two premium Kögel Cool – PurFerro quality refrigerated trailers into its fleet. The forwarding company, founded in 2006, is growing constantly, and – like Kögel – won a Best Managed Companies Award for its exemplary management and far-reaching strategic vision, combined with its innovative strength and sustainable management culture. Today, Combinex is one of the largest and most successful logistics companies in the Netherlands, regularly conveying scheduled services with partial and complete loads to Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, the Czech Republic, Poland, Ireland, the UK, Scandinavia and Switzerland. Combinex particularly appreciates the standard equipment of the new trailers, along with their high degree of individualisation.
The NOVUM generation Kögel Cargo
In addition to the well-known advantages of the NOVUM generation – such as the new air and lighting console on the front wall, which transfers the forces into the frame via the side members, and the new external frame profile, which greatly increases the accessibility of the VarioFix lashing points, the trailers are also certified in accordance with DIN EN 12642 Code XL, and have extensive standard equipment. In addition, Combinex decided on a reinforced chassis frame with a 120-mm-thick frame neck and a floor loading capacity for an increased forklift axle load of 8,000 kg.
Optimal load-securing
The VarioFix perforated steel external frame is equipped as standard with 13 pairs of lashing brackets with grip hooks at the sides and a tensile force of 2,500 kg per bracket for load-securing purposes. In addition, an optional 20 lashing straps with a loop and long-lever ratchet are attached to the external frame.
Combinex custom equipment
A 12-mm-thick and 2,500-mm-high textured coated board and a 5-mm-thick and 500-mm-high steel sheet are mounted onto the inside of the front wall. These protect the front wall from damage in daily use. For enhanced impact protection, the rear of the vehicle is equipped with reinforced steel rubber bumpers. An eight-millimetre-thick lateral steel bracket, extending over the entire width, and locking cam protection, mounted centrally on the end plate of the frame, complete the trailer’s impact protection. To avoid the usual need for aluminium or wooden slats, the trailers are fitted with a sliding tarpaulin at the sides, with 24 vertical aluminium slats per side. Further custom equipment includes a rear portal with steel corner posts, tarpaulin cables with two mounts, a pallet storage box for 32 Euro pallets, a toolbox, and much more.
Kögel Cool – PurFerro quality
To make the loading and unloading process as quiet as possible, Kögel coolers are fitted with low-noise aluminium floors as standard. In the floor area, the premium refrigerated boxes come with welded aluminium floor pans for increased hygiene and simpler cleaning. The floor pans also prevent moisture from penetrating the load-bearing structures, which significantly increases the service life and cost-effectiveness of the trailer. It goes without saying that the trailer also fulfils the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) requirements for safeguarding consumer health with regard to temperature-controlled food transports in international goods traffic. The refrigerated box trailers also comply with ATP/FRC requirements. The box bodies of the all-purpose version of the Kögel Cool – PurFerro quality trailers consist of a high-quality, more advanced, highly insulating, 100-percent CFC-free, special foam polymer. The robust, easy-to-maintain steel covering layer is also coated with hard PVC film on the inside. The 45-mm-thick walls, 85-mm-thick roof, and 125-mm-thick floor are made by Kögel and ensure a significantly improved thermal transfer coefficient (K-value). This efficient protection against temperature effects reduces energy consumption and cuts costs. The
trailer also comes with the EN 12642 Code XL load-securing certificate as standard. This shows that it is particularly suitable for form-locked transport of general cargo and palletised goods.
Combinex custom equipment
Of course, the Kögel premium all-purpose refrigerated box trailer is also available with a wide range of individual equipment for the most varied of requirements in the different fields of use. On request, the Kögel Cool – PurFerro quality trailers can also be fitted with an impact bulkhead. This bulkhead, which consists of individual aluminium V-profiles, is not only flexible and easy to dismantle for cleaning, but also provides the best protection, even under the toughest conditions. In addition to two pairs of rubber protective bumpers, a row of rubber protective bumpers is mounted on the frame closure panel and a rubber protective strip is mounted on the left and right of the portal frame. Optional anchoring rails, directly moulded into the walls, render a complicated retrofit structure superfluous and help drivers to secure the load quickly and reliably. Further special equipment includes a temperature recorder, a pallet storage box for 36 Euro pallets, a steel lamp holder, and much more.
Kögel Telematics
Both the tarpaulin semi-trailers and the refrigerated box trailers are equipped with Kögel Telematics, too. Thanks to the BasicTrailer telematics package, which combines PosControl, TrailerControl and EBSControl services, the Kögel trailer telematics module of the Kögel Cargo trailer sends data such as the trailer’s real-time position, coupling status and EBS data to the Kögel Telematics web portal. The CoolTrailer telematics package of the Cool – PurFerro quality refrigerated boxes also makes data such as the box temperature, refrigeration unit operating mode, and setpoints available via the TempControl service. What’s more, the Kögel Telematics Connectivity database allows Combinex to display all the acquired data in the web portal and other fleet management systems, but also to import it – in real time – into existing processes and a host of software systems.
