The results show:
– Jio achieves the highest score with 918 points
– airtel ranks second with 845 points, IDEA third with 706 points and Vodafone fourth with 629 points
– Jio shows best rated performance in five categories: Coverage for Voice, Coverage for Data, Coverage for 4G as well as User Download Speed and User Upload Speed
– airtel is best rated in Data Service Availability
The analysis is based on 6.2 billion samples collected from 5.5. million users overall in 78.5 percent of the urban built-up area and in 41.5 percent of the non-urban built-up area throughout India. The data was collected in a consecutive 6-month period from December 2018 to May 2019.
With a score of 918 out of a maximum of 1,000 points, Jio is clearly ahead of competition in the crowdsourcing based Quality Assessment. airtel ranks second and achieves an overall score of 845 points. IDEA follows with an overall score of 706 points. Vodafone ranks fourth with an overall score of 629 points.
In five out of six categories Jio is ahead of the competition.
In terms of Coverage for Voice, Jio achieves the highest score with 93 points followed with some distance by airtel with 76 points, Vodafone with 73 points and IDEA with 68 points. In terms of Data Coverage, Jio achieves the highest score with 135 points compared to airtel with 122 points, Vodafone with 107 points and IDEA with 106 points. In the 4G Coverage discipline, Jio is best rated with with a score of 239 points, followed by airtel with 207 points and at some distance by IDEA with 164 points and Vodafone with 154 points.
Jio shows the highest score for User Download Speed with 100 points, airtel is second with 90 points. Vodafone and IDEA follow with a score of 60 and 56 points. In User Upload Speed ranks Jio also highest with 61 points, airtel following in second place with 51 points. Vodafone and IDEA achieve a score of 44 and 43 points. In Data Service Availability, airtel achieves a score of 300 points, followed by Jio with 290 points and IDEA and Vodafone with a score of 270 and 190 points.
