The "AI Marketplace" project creates a digital platform that brings together AI experts, solution providers and manufacturing companies. The application possibilities of the "AI marketplace" are diverse: on the one hand, manufacturing companies can incorporate the experience from their own and third-party products and on the other, research results into product development and virtually play through countless product variants before the optimum product is manufactured in efficient 3D printing. This enables them to deliver individual products to the customer in a short period of time.
The participating research institutions have built up extensive knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence which they can use to develop offers for small and medium-sized enterprises. At the same time, the "AI marketplace" facilitates the exchange of experience between industry and AI experts, thus providing new approaches for the research.
Data sovereignty and secure, fair transaction mechanisms by IDSA
The "AI Marketplace" relies on a secure data space and a trust based IT architecture. Both will be based on the IDS reference architecture. IDSA will ensure data sovereignty and secure, fair transaction mechanisms.
Lars Nagel, CEO IDSA, sees excellent opportunities for the development of a sustainable business concept: "With the ‚AI Marketplace‘ we will succeed in building up an extensive range of products for medium-sized businesses – not only in Germany, but also internationally. It is important that we involve many companies in the development and build a good sales structure. We have ideal conditions for this. The project partners are well-connected and bring over 3,000 contacts."
The project is expected to start in January 2020 and is planned for three years. In addition to the IDSA, the project partners are Fraunhofer IEM and Fraunhofer IOSB-INA, the Heinz Nixdorf Institute of the University of Paderborn, the Cluster of Excellence Cognitive Interaction Technology CITEC at Bielefeld University and the Institute for Industrial Information technology in IT of TH OWL. Other project partners include Claas, Diebold Nixdorf, Düspohl, Hella Gutmann, Unity and Westaflex as well as the networks inno-focus, FIWARE and prostep ivip.
