During travel, a large number of harmful substances, exhaust gases and allergy triggers flow into the vehicle interior. The most important barrier is therefore the cabin filter, which is intended to ensure a continuous supply of fresh air. However, conventional cabin filters only prevent particles such as dust, pollen, soot or odours from getting into the interior of the vehicle. Despite the filter, bacteria or mould can spread in the vehicle interior.
The biofunctional filters bind free allergens and inhibit the growth of bacteria and moulds. But how can these extremely small particles be prevented from getting into the vehicle interior? The biofunctional filters are equipped with an additional coating, known as polyphenol coating. This natural layer enables moulds or bacteria to spread, which impair the respiratory tract of the people inside the car and can cause allergic reactions.
To ensure clean air inside the vehicle, it is important to change the cabin filter regularly. Herth+Buss recommends switching at least once a year.
