Hong Kong International Terminals (HIT), a key container port operator in the region, has selected Airbus’s value-added reseller HONOH, through HGC Global Communications Limited (HGC), to replace their current digital communication system with the Airbus Tactilon Agnet 800 hybrid solution.

Airbus’s Tactilon Agnet 800 will cover all the terminals in the port areas 1 – 9 and more than 21 dispatcher workstations and network management workstations. 5G-ready voice and video communications will hence be made available and will be used by different port operators in the yard.

The Airbus hybrid solution is a highly reliable application for business critical use and allows professional voice and message communication between both smartphone and Tetra radio users as well as with the control room. With Tactilon Agnet 800, Tetra features such as emergency calls and location tracking are also available and benefit from a high level of quality and security.

The application therefore is perfect for connecting people vital to an operation easily and securely, despite the different devices and technologies used. The users can also take advantage of the wider coverage and services that LTE has to offer.

The new hybrid solutions help the Hong Kong International Terminals (HIT) gain in operational efficiency and manage their daily tasks, while ensuring the reliability and safety of the site itself, and its users.

HONOH, the local Airbus Secure Land Communications value-added reseller in Hong Kong, will provide HGC – fixed-line operator and IT service provider – and Hong Kong International Terminals (HIT) with the best-in-class Airbus solutions, from implementation services to first line maintenance support.

“We are extremely proud to provide our state-of-the-art hybrid technology to Hongkong International Terminals” says Marko Tiesmaki, Head of the Asia-Pacific Region for Secure Land Communications at Airbus. “ Our Tactilon Agnet collaboration platform will provide secure individual or group image, data and voice communication, at the push of a button while helping the operators and end users gain in operational efficiency, reliability, and security for their daily tasks” Tiesmaki adds.
