- Versatile: Camper with up to seven seats and sleeping for four
- Flexible: Well equipped with variable storage
- Expansion: New Crosscamp Lite joins Crosscamp Flex
The comfortable Opel Zafira Life has been available as a stylish camper for a few months. The experts from Crosscamp (a brand of the Erwin Hymer Group) have converted the Opel “lounge on wheels” into a practical travel companion. With this year’s outdoor season approaching, Crosscamp has now expanded its Opel-based portfolio: the new Crosscamp Lite is available from selected Opel dealers at a starting price of €44,499 (all prices RRP including VAT in Germany).
While the Crosscamp Flex (from €45,999) with fitted kitchenette, cupboards, cooker and wash basin is ideal for longer holidays, the less expensive new Crosscamp Lite is a true all-rounder. Thanks to the height of only 1.99 metres, the newcomer can even access most public parking garages. The 4.95 m-long camper also offers plenty of space for shopping, removals or simply for transporting the family – with the option of seating for up to seven people. Since fitted equipment is limited to a minimum, the Crosscamp Lite features instead plenty of adaptable storage possibilities. These include a gas cooker that can be moved to the rear, storage for the living room battery and a compartment for a 1.8 kg gas cylinder. Next to the second sliding door (standard equipment) on the driver’s side is a removable storage container that also attaches to the rear of the vehicle.
The new Crosscamp Lite is ideally equipped for trips into the great outdoors – by night as well as by day. The cooker is usable outdoors, while a 13-litre cool box for refreshments can fit between the front seats.
At night-time, the bench seat behind the front seats converts quickly into a double bed as wide as the whole interior, measuring 140 x 200 cm. Two more beds (120 x 200 cm) can be placed under the rising roof (standard equipment). Falling asleep and waking up to beautiful views is possible thanks to the roof’s three panorama windows.
Typically Opel: Numerous top technologies and assistance systems
The new Crosscamp Lite is not only practical, but also highly equipped. The standard equipment (based on that of the Zafira Life) features Lane Keep Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Hill Start Assist, semi-adaptive Cruise Control, Front Collision Alert, Emergency Brake Assist and Drowsiness Alert. The Multimedia radio, compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, offers top connectivity for all occupants. Dual zone air conditioning and seat heating for the driver and front passenger further increase the comfort.
The new Crosscamp Lite and Crosscamp Flex are also available with numerous Opel options, such as OpelConnect, a Head-Up display, a 180-degree Panorama Rear View camera and Park Pilot front and rear – including Side Blind Zone Alert. Optimum grip on all surfaces is offered by IntelliGrip traction control. Crosscamp buyers can choose all versions of the Opel Zafira Life powertrain portfolio.
