Modern manufacturing processes must be able to respond to current conditions: Both to customer-specific requirements and to the further development of technical possibilities. In this context, it is always necessary to simplify manual processes or to support them with machines. For this reason, Toolcraft recently invested in a system for polishing metal components.

Highest precision for complex components

Toolcraft AG, based in Middle Franconia, offers both additive and subtractive manufacturing technologies, including post-processing steps. This also includes the deburring and polishing of precision components. Until now, this step was carried out manually, which was both labour-intensive and time-consuming. For this reason, Toolcraft recently invested in a "DLyte PRO500" polishing system from GPAINNOVA, thus expanding the technical possibilities for post-processing. A homogeneous result across the surface is guaranteed by the patented DryLyte technology: The dry electropolishing process works by transporting ions and delivers an optimal result even with complex component geometries. At Toolcraft, the new system is currently used to polish both additively manufactured and conventionally machined components. Numerous parameters can be selected for different requirements and materials. "This is a future-oriented investment that we want to use to expand our capabilities and offer our customers additional added value," says Christoph Hauck, Chief Technology and Sales Officer at toolcraft AG.
