Zero EC introduces a fundamental new technology to the industry, using fundamental research that originated from the Weizmann Institute of Science. The award shows that the technology has reached a level where the enormous potential for the semiconductor industry becomes visible.
“2021 was a very important year for us” says Daniel Graf, Head of Business Development at Zero EC. “The path for scientific achievements into real products that add benefit for the semiconductor has many challenges. The recognition of our technology by the editors of Semiconductor Review Europe shows that we are on the right track, and that the industry becomes aware of the potential of this new technology.”
The company has developed a new type of data transport, enabling to reduce energy consumption while enabling higher performance for high-performance applications, such as interconnects, which are essential to improve performance in the next years.
Founded in Switzerland in 2011, Zero EC recently won the German Innovation Award 2021 in the category „Excellence in Business to Business – Electronic Technologies“. The company is the first to use free electrons in silicon, and its patented technology is intended to replace conventional copper and fiber optics solutions.
With additional sites in Israel and Germany and a team of highly decorated scientists, Zero EC collaborates with leading international institutes and universities (including Fraunhofer, Bar-Ilan University, Weizmann Institute of Science, Humboldt University of Berlin, and many more). Its total financing to date is in the double-digit million euro range.
