Brigitta Kocherhans‘ team at Siemens Healthineers won over the jury this year with two digitization projects and took home the Treasury of the Year 2022 award. On the one hand, the treasury relies on artificial intelligence for the global management of group liquidity. Secondly, the team restructured the trade finance area for guarantees and letters of credit. In the process, the global set-up was transformed from decentralized to centralized. Digital end-to-end processing of guarantees on a multi-bank platform makes it possible to realize economies of scale.
"With our two lighthouse projects, we have proven that digitalization is not just a buzzword for us. With Liquiture, we have created liquidity planning based on artificial intelligence. At the same time, we transformed our Trade Finance division by introducing a multi-bank platform, among other things. And all this in the midst of the Corona pandemic. We were able to do this thanks to our innovative, global & diverse ONE Treasury team. Our motto to this day is "We dare big & win together", says Brigitta Kocherhans.
The award was presented by jury member and last year’s winner Markus Massouh, Head of Group Treasury, Audi Group, together with Antonia Kögler, Head of Service at DerTreasurer and editor at FINANCE, and Markus Wohlgeschaffen, Managing Director of Traxpay.
Supply chain finance provider Traxpay is once again supporting the award. The award ceremony took place during the "Structured FINANCE".
The financial congress is organized by "FINANCE", the sister magazine of "DerTreasurer".
All four finalists presented outstanding treasury projects. In the end, the jury had to decide. In addition to Siemens Healthineers, the automotive group Mercedes-Benz, the fashion company Hugo Boss and the real estate group Vonovia were shortlisted this year.
The jury consisted of experienced treasurers and representatives of banks: Stephan Albers (Zalando), Andrej Ankerst (BNP Paribas Deutschland), Birka Benecke (BASF), Rando Bruns (Merck), Sigurd Dahrendorf (ehemals Knorr-Bremse), Klaus Gerdes (Grünenthal), Michael Hannig (Voith Finance), Boris Jendruschewitz (Venus), Christoph Koch (Hüttenes-Albertus), Markus Massouh (Audi), Michael Mattig (Nordex), Michael Schütt (Fraport), Klaus Wirbel (Rewe Group) und Axel Zwanzig (Marquard & Bahls).
