Robot processing applications are becoming increasingly attractive for companies. In this, robots can be put to use instead of conventional CNC maschines. Rhinoceros is available for the flexible preparation of CAD models. BobCAM für Rhino provides processing operations such as drilling, roughing, finishing, the appropriate spindle rotation rate as well as feed rate. The new BobCAM für Rhino plugin renders a new flexible form of machining, which RoboDK then transmits into robotic movements.

Joining forces, the software manufacturers RoboDK and BobCAD-CAM Inc. developed a new plugin for coupling CAM and robot offline programming. It combines BobCAM für Rhino’s highly efficient machining functions with the innovative offline robot programming capabilities of RoboDK. Thus ensuring a seamless generation of robotic machining paths directly from the BobCAM für Rhino interface.

By allowing a more accessible and adaptive use of robot applications in manufacturing, the plugin ushers in a new era of flexible processing.

Rhinoceros constitutes the quasi-standard for affordable 3D-modelling at the highest stage. Rhinoceros can generate, process, analyze, document, render, animate and transmit NURBS curves, surfaces and volume as well as SubD geometry, point clouds and polygon mesh. Actual limitations are only constrained by hardware. Beyond that, there is no limit to Rhinoceros’s complexity, rate or size.

Equipped with state-of-the-art CAM-power, BobCAM for Rhinoceros offers first-rate tool paths for 2 1/2, 3, 4 and 5 axis processing. An easy to use interface assists in generating efficient tool paths and allows for faster production. Here BobCAM offers an extraordinary budget-friendly price-performance ratio.

RoboDK is a universal offline programming system for robotic applications. It already offers a variety of interfaces and more than 600 supported types of robots by over 50 manufacturers.
