For more than 80 years, the biggest players in the resource sector, investors and many experts have gathered at the congress. Up to 30,000 participants from more than 130 countries usually attend. Presentations, networking events, lectures or educational programs attract resource enthusiasts, companies and organizations from all over the world. Since the first convention in 1932, PDAC has grown significantly. The mining industry is represented by more than 1,100 exhibitors. There is information on current activities and the investment potential of exploration and development companies. Investors can meet with exhibitors through the PDAC One-on-One meeting program. Topics include gold and silver, rare earths, battery metals such as cobalt and nickel, base metals, diamonds, or uranium.

Visitors learn about gold discoveries, new techniques in mining, and key issues about responsible exploration and mining. Industry leaders share insights and case studies in a series of presentations. Industry experts and world-class speakers discuss trends, technologies, their real-world experiences and provide a glimpse into the future. One of the first speakers was Ken Hoffman of McKinsey & Company on March 5 on the topic of battery metals ("All Metals Become Critical"). Battery metals are an important topic because consumption is increasing, ore grades are decreasing, and a trend toward deglobalization indicate that these metals are moving into a critical phase of availability. Companies concerned about battery metals include Canada Nickel Company – https://www.commodity-tv.com/play/mining-newsflash-with-with-victoria-gold-gold-terra-tinone-resources-canada-nickel-labrador-uranium-and-mag-silver/ – with the highly prospective Crawford nickel-cobalt-sulfide project in Ontario, Canada. Critical metals and rare earths has US Critical Metals – https://www.commodity-tv.com/play/us-critical-metals-exploring-a-lithium-a-rare-earths-and-a-cobalt-project-in-the-united-states/ – in its sights. The company has a lithium project in Nevada, a cobalt project, a uranium project and two rare earths projects in Montana and Idaho.
