She will be responsible for sales, marketing & communication, as well as managing the Koelnmesse Congress Centres. She will also be focussing her efforts on the market launch and operational management of the new congress and event location Confex.
"We are delighted to have secured a sales expert like Mandy Pahl-Bauerfeind for Koelncongress GmbH. She has extensive congress and trade fair know-how, is well connected in the trade fair and MICE industry, and will perfectly complement Managing Director Ralf Nüsser," says Koelnmesse CEO, Gerald Böse.
Managing Director of Koelncongress GmbH, Ralf Nüsser, adds: "I am looking forward to the competent support of Mandy Pahl-Bauerfeind. Together, we will drive the future-oriented marketing of our spaces, especially Confex, and continue our sustainable growth course. I wish her a good start in Cologne."
Mandy Pahl-Bauerfeind comes from Düsseldorf Congress GmbH, where the business administration graduate began her successful sales career as a trainee following her studies.
For the past 13 years, she has been working there as Director Sales and was most recently responsible for managing German and international marketing of the Düsseldorf trade fair grounds including its two congress centres. She focussed on the company’s international positioning and the developing of a comprehensive sales strategy together with strong partners including the Convention Bureau. From 2012 to 2018, she took on additional management tasks as head of the Seven-Centers of Germany office, a marketing cooperation comprising the leading sustainable German congress and conference locations. From 2011 to 2017, Mandy Pahl-Bauerfeind was responsible for the establishment and strategic orientation of the Düsseldorf Convention Bureau as co-director and successfully positioned the state capital as a conference and congress location in the international market.
Even before Confex opens in the summer of 2024, her work at Koelncongress will focus on attracting organisers to the new congress and event location and bringing major congresses to Cologne from all areas and fields of expertise.
"For me, sales is sustainable and characterised by extensive knowledge of customer needs," says Mandy Pahl-Bauerfeind. "I am very much looking forward to supporting Koelncongress GmbH as a strong service provider in the German and international congress, trade fair, and event business. The infrastructure of the trade fair grounds with the new Confex centre offers excellent opportunities for innovative event formats, and will inspire new target groups for Cologne. This will help us strengthen Cologne’s role in the international event market for the future."
