- Company visit by Till Mansmann MdB, Innovation Commissioner "Green Hydrogen" of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research
- Representatives of regional companies and municipalities visit HPS as part of the HyLand initiative on the same day
- Visits underline the high interest in picea, the first year-round electricity storage system based on green hydrogen for buildings
Yesterday, Till Mansmann MdB, the Innovation Commissioner “Green Hydrogen” of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, visited HPS Home Power Solutions AG, the world’s leading provider of year-round green hydrogen-based electricity storage for buildings. On the same day, a delegation from the HyLand regions also visited.
“It is a sign of recognition for our achievement that we had two high-profile visits in one day. Our long-term electricity storage system picea based on green hydrogen is unique on the market in this form. The fact that both representatives of hydrogen regions and the innovation commissioner for ‘green hydrogen’ informed themselves about our innovation confirms the importance of our contribution to the energy transition,” says Zeyad Abul-Ella, founder and CEO of HPS.
The delegation included representatives of the HyLand regions. “HyLand – Hydrogen Regions in Germany” is a competition funded by the Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport and organised by the National Organisation Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NOW). The aim of the competition is to identify and promote the most innovative and promising regional concepts for hydrogen and to develop Germany into one of the leading hydrogen nations worldwide. Local hydrogen solutions are being developed in a growing number of regions across Germany.
HPS is the world leader in the development and production of integrated energy storage systems based on green hydrogen for homes, multi-family houses and commercial properties. HPS addresses important areas of the energy transition with its innovative picea year-round electricity storage system. The surplus energy generated by a photovoltaic system on sunny days is stored as green hydrogen and used in the dark season to supply electricity and heat. Thus, buildings can be provided with solar energy from their own roofs all year round. The Berlin-based company was founded in 2014 by Zeyad Abul-Ella and Dr. Henrik Colell. HPS has won several prestigious awards with picea, most recently the Handelsblatt Energy Award, the Berlin-Brandenburg Innovation Award and the Sustainability Challenge of the German Sustainable Building Council.
