Logistics Hall of Fame Council nominates four candidates. The final decision is made by the jury.
The induction of the new member will take place on November 29 at the "Tipi am Kanzleramt" in Berlin.
This year’s finalists for induction into the international Logistics Hall of Fame have been determined. The Logistics Hall of Fame Council nominated four of 14 Personalities for induction. Three of 10 Candidates reached the finals for the Logistics Leader of the Year award. The award organization had received 24 valid nominations from several nations in advance. Candidate lists for both honors are traditionally secret and not made public.
The 2023 Logistics Hall of Fame Council members are: Niels Beuck (Deputy Managing Director of the German Freight Forwarding and Logistics Association), Marten Bosselmann (Chairman of the German Parcel and Express Logistics Association), Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Michael ten Hompel (Executive Director of the Institute, Fraunhofer IML), Thilo Jörgl (Managing Director impact media projects GmbH), Oliver Luksic, MdB (Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Digital and Transport), Frank Müller (Senior Vice President and Brand Management, STILL GmbH), Andreas Reuther (Co-Host logistik4punktnull-Podcast, The Podcast for Logistics Professionals), Sascha Schmel (Managing Director of the Association of Materials Handling and Intralogistics in the German Engineering Federation VDMA) and Anita Würmser ( Chairwoman of the jury Logistics Hall of Fame).
For the Logistics Hall of Fame, the next phase of the selection process now begins: Who will enter the Hall of Fame as a new member and who will be awarded the title "Logistics Leader of the Year" will be decided in the coming weeks by the jury, which is made up of around 70 internationally renowned experts from business, media and politics.
The Logistics Hall of Fame documents the greatest milestones in logistics. The decisive factor for induction is that an achievement has significantly and sustainably contributed to the development of logistics beyond the boundaries of one’s own company. To date, 39 men and women have been inducted into the World Hall of Fame.
The "Logistics Leader of the Year" honors those who set the pace and shape the future of the logistics industry. The focus is on topicality and the benefits for one’s own company, as well as innovative strength, sustainability and entrepreneurial change. The prize is awarded by the Logistics Hall of Fame and donated by STILL GmbH.
Both awards will be presented at the annual gala reception, which will take place on November 29 at the Tipi am Kanzleramt in Berlin.
The Logistics Hall of Fame documents milestones in logistics worldwide. Up to now, 39 men and women have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. In addition to its function as a preserver, the Logistics Hall of Fame recognizes future-oriented achievements with the Founder’s Award in order to initiate and promote innovations. The honorees were Port of Hamburg CEO Angela Titzrath, as well as Havi Supply Chain President Neil Humphrey, Hermes Germany CEO Olaf Schabirosky and Blue Yonder founder Prof. Dr. Michael Feindt.
