• Schaeffler presents its complete range of precision strain wave gears and precision planetary gearboxes
  • Premiere: Modular and customized precision drives for industrial automation
  • Ewellix slide- and liftkits for robotics and automation solutions in various sectors

The Industrial division of the global automotive and industrial supplier Schaeffler is presenting its complete portfolio of precision bearings, precision gearboxes, and precision drives for industrial automation and specially for cobots and industrial robots at automatica 2023 (June 27 – 30, 2023 in Munich) in Hall B6, Booth 111.

Precision strain wave gears for cobots and lightweight robots
Schaeffler is presenting its compact precision strain wave gears of series RT1 (for the high-torque sector) and RT2 (for standard torque applications) as solutions for cobots and lightweight robots, but also for medical applications such as drives for C-arms and heavy ceiling mounts. RT1- and RT2-series precision strain wave gears are offered for output torques up to around 300 Nm. For output torques from 300 Nm to 5000 Nm, PSC-series precision planetary gearboxes are used.

The Ewellix slide- and liftkits are an ideal addition to the product range, which are used in preference as ready-to-fit horizontal and vertical axes to extend the range of cobots and industrial robots. Schaeffler is also presenting Ewellix floor lock actuators for the first time. These are very compact lifting units, which can be used to slightly raise mobile platforms such as autonomous mobile robots (AMR) or mobile tables or machine parts and thus firmly fix them to the floor.

Premiere at automatica: Individually configurable precision drives
The customer does have a large choice of suppliers in the market for precision servo drives, but usually only has a limited influence on their design. With the new precision drives from Schaeffler, companies can adapt the drives to largely match their application without having to invest in the development of these components. Essentially, the precision drives comprise the RT1- and RT2-series precision strain wave gears, which Schaeffler completes with selected motors, optional encoders, integrated torque sensor technology, and individually adapted housings and shafts to produce plug-&-play-ready drives. In this way, manufacturers can concentrate on their core expertise during the development of their machines, but do not have to do without customized drives.

In addition to Schaeffler’s Industrial division, Schaeffler Special Machinery – the Schaeffler Group’s Special Machinery sector – is also participating in the show again this year with a trade show booth in Hall A5, Booth 311.
