Solar panels for cars are no longer just dreams of the future.

From September 5 to 10, the always highly regarded IAA Mobility will take place in Munich. New cars will be presented here, almost all of them with plugs, i.e. electric. Among the many interesting technologies and inventions for a more climate-friendly future are solar cells. At the IAA in Munich, a photovoltaic hood can be admired. After all, experiments with photovoltaic cells on the car roof have been going on for some time. Already in 2019, a car solar roof was exhibited at the IAA Mobility. The solar cells can probably also be color-matched to the corresponding vehicle, even when it comes to the roof of the car. Of course, there is still a lot of testing and research to be done, but solar energy will become more and more important, a welcome development.

Today’s solar cells are two to three times more powerful than they were 40 years ago when the first photovoltaic systems were produced. Battery systems are available so that photovoltaic systems can also store electricity. Lithium-ion batteries are the most commonly used. This is because they have a high energy density, high efficiency and a long service life. Continuous operation is possible without the battery losing power. Lithium-ion batteries are used in home storage systems, electric cars, and in large battery storage systems in industry. They also perform their services in power plants. In addition, these energy storage devices have become cheaper over time and as production volumes have increased. Lithium, along with other raw materials, ensures that all this succeeds. The "white gold," as lithium is also called, is available, for example, in the projects of ION Energy or Century Lithium.

In Mongolia, ION Energyhttps://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/ion-energy-ltd/ – owns two promising lithium projects.

In Nevada, Century Lithium’shttps://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/century-lithium-corp/ – Clayton Valley Lithium Project has already successfully completed initial production. The pilot plant consistently delivers high-purity 99.87 percent lithium carbonate.
