Arvato Systems has successfully implemented SAP S/4HANA at energy service provider ENNI Energie & Umwelt Niederrhein GmbH in Moers. In the process, the old commercial core system SAP ERP 6.08 was separated from the integrated energy industry solution SAP IS-U and from SAP HCM and set up anew in a separate SAP S/4HANA system. The challenging project was completed in just eleven months until go-live.

The old system and process landscape at ENNI no longer met the requirements of modern process management. The complexity and inflexibility of the previous solution clearly spoke against "business as usual". Therefore, at the end of 2021, ENNI was looking for a suitable partner who could not only split up the existing SAP ERP landscape and migrate it to SAP S/4HANA, but also implement comprehensive optimization and standardization of processes. The choice fell on Arvato Systems, ENNI’s long-standing IT partner. Christian Feltgen, IT manager at ENNI and project manager: "Arvato Systems convinced us with its competence and professionalism. The solution offered coincided completely with our requirements."

After a short preparation period, the migration project started on February 1, 2022. Because the Corona virus still determined the general conditions at the time, Arvato Systems employees had to work remotely for the most part in this agile project. The planned go-live date of January 1, 2023, was met and confirmed by an official project completion on August 29, 2023.

ENNI now has a modern SAP system landscape that is close to the standard. Commercial processes were simplified and performance optimized by streamlining technical data management. User-friendliness has improved significantly. In addition, ENNI is now in a position to easily integrate future SAP innovations, which will sustainably improve the energy service provider’s competitiveness.

Christian Feltgen sums up: "Arvato Systems impressed us with its flexible and binding cooperation, technical expertise and great personal commitment. The large workload was handled confidently and reliably by the Arvato Systems and ENNI project team, even in unavoidable stressful situations."

Sabine Fleischer, Senior Manager SAP at Arvato Systems and responsible for the project, is delighted with what has been achieved. "All those involved in the teams deserve a great deal of thanks for the fact that such a large and complex task could be solved within the specified schedule under challenging conditions. We are proud to be able to show an excellent SAP S/4HANA reference in the utilities environment through this complex project with ENNI."
