Stäubli Robotics has developed a robust portfolio of pharmaceutical robots designed to handle processes in aseptic areas and withstand rigorous cleaning procedures. They meet the highest hygiene and cleanliness standards, while bringing greater efficiency and reliability to a variety of applications. The complete offering includes the Stericlean range for aseptic environments and the new Stericlean+ range, developed for use in isolators. A third, accessPharma, is in the works.
Live demos offer a look at the future of pharma
At CPHI Barcelona, visitors will have the opportunity to see Stäubli’s fully hygienic TX2-60 Stericlean+ robot with the optional hollow wrist for themselves. Stericlean+ represents a breakthrough in aseptic process automation, with higher cleanability, a new FDA-compliant surface coating and dynamic joint sealings, and other enhanced hygienic design features aimed at delivering unprecedented levels of product and patient safety.
Robotic automation is also transforming the diagnostics lab, going beyond single-task benchtop cells to bring greater safety, speed and precision to a variety of laboratory tasks such as sample preparation, reagent handling, and testing. Stäubli’s demonstrations at CPHI will include a TX2-40 robot in a multi-task diagnostic cell, offering a glimpse into the laboratory of tomorrow.
Minimizing human interventions is a major theme in pharmaceutical industry automation. Manual manipulation continues to take place via glove ports, particularly in fault intervention; but a closed, automated system eliminates the inherent risk. In an interactive exhibit, CPHI attendees will be able to test Stäubli’s telemanipulation functionality hands-on, moving a robot by means of a joystick rather than gloved hands – a solution that promises to propel the industry forward in its evolution.
