Elias Apel appointed as CEO of LucaNet

Elias Apel, previously CFO of LucaNet, is an experienced and proven leader who has been crucial in the company’s growth and success over the past years. Apel has extensive knowledge of LucaNet’s business and a long track record of implementing financial and growth strategies, making him well equipped to transition into his new role as CEO.

Apel will assume the position of CEO effective October 1, 2023, following a transition period supported by Dominik Duchon, who will step down as CEO but will continue to stay close to the business as a significant shareholder and in an advisory role.

Today LucaNet serves more than 5,000 customers with nearly 800 employees worldwide, providing the digital Office of the CFO with end-to-end solutions that are fast to implement and easy to use.

LucaNet’s recent acquisitions have expanded its portfolio of business-critical software into disclosure management, ESG, tax compliance, as well as treasury and cash management solutions. In addition, the business continues to transition towards a fully SaaS offering whilst it expands as a truly global organization, all with the support of Hg, a leading investor in European and transatlantic software and services businesses.

Apel first joined LucaNet in 2018 to lead the global partner channel activities and shortly after transitioned into Global Head of International Operations and Channel making him instrumental in driving the internationalization of the company. In May 2022, Apel took over the position of CFO, responsible for finance, accounting and controlling but also business and data analytics, corporate development as well as mergers & acquisitions.
