Beloved in automotive workshops across the world, the Victoria’s Practical Tips series of videos from Victor Reinz® is getting a new installment. In the latest episode of the passenger car edition, mechatronics technician Victoria gives a step-by-step demonstration of how to remove and install an integrated oil seal in the housing. The video can be accessed free of charge via the Victor Reinz website at www.victorreinz.com/victoria and on the Victor Reinz YouTube channel.

1 million Victoria Fans

Victoria’s tutorials have racked up nearly 1 million views to date. The new episode is Dana’s answer to many users who wanted to see an installation video specifically on replacing the integrated oil seal.

The video is 4:46 minutes long. Since it’s exclusively made up of video sequences, detail shots and icons, it can be used internationally, overcomes all language barriers and is easy for any trainee or home mechanic to understand. Anyone watching Victoria work will understand the most important installation steps and know which ones have to be followed to successfully change an integrated rotary shaft seal in the housing.

How to form a perfect seal

The key installation steps are checking the crankshaft flange for scoring and cracks and performing a clean and greaseless installation of the integrated oil seal using the mounting sleeve. Aside from the replacement of the integrated oil seal itself, Victoria shows how important it is to completely remove the oil pan.

Oftentimes, the oil pan is only loosened partially, causing leaks between the housing of the oil seal and oil pan due to sealing beads being applied incorrectly. Once removed, the sealing surface is quick and easy to clean, and then can be perfectly sealed with REINZOSIL, as the video shows.

As a rule: Even the best integrated Victor Reinz oil seal from cannot yield its full sealing performance unless it is installed professionally with all checks and cleaning steps. The new video from the Victoria’s Practical Tips series guarantees to make the installation and removal of the integrated rotary shaft seal a complete success.
