With these new modules, manufacturers of long-life electronic products don’t have to rely on extensions of the 7c-I exemption to the RoHS directive, especially since new exemptions are granted for shorter periods.
“The list of harmful substances, chemicals and materials keeps getting longer. Keeping track of all exceptions and exemptions is cumbersome and time-consuming, said David Raquet, Global VP Sales and Marketing at Intelligent Memory. “Being able to cross off one item from this list is very valuable to customers, especially if they are designing long-life products like many of our industrial and embedded customers.”
Intelligent Memory addresses this demand with its new fully RoHS-compliant DDR5 modules that use less than 0,01% of lead or other harmful substances. The new DDR5 modules come in 16 and 32 Gigabyte capacities, 5600 MHz clock frequency and in SO-DIMM, UDIMM and RDIMM form factors.
Intelligent Memory is one of the few memory manufacturers that offers DRAM components as well as DRAM modules in addition to its customizable NAND flash memory portfolio.
Intelligent Memory has been developing memory products for demanding industrial applications since 1991 (as Pacific Force Technology Limited until 2013). The extensive product portfolio consists of DRAM ICs and modules (from SDR to DDR4) and a variety of managed NAND products for industrial applications like SATA or PCIe SSDs, SD & microSD cards, CF cards, USB sticks and eMMC. All solutions of Intelligent Memory have been designed to meet the industry’s demands for quality, reliability, longevity and long-term availability.
