Electromobility is finding its way into more and more sectors. Beer can now be transported quietly and without emissions.

Electric trucks are a beautiful thing. They make no noise on the road or when emptying the charge. Five battery packs, each with 90 kilowatt hours, ensure efficient transportation of the beer brewed at Augustiner. Three electric motors generate 666 hp of continuous power. When the brakes are applied, the motors act as generators and can thus recharge the batteries. Athens is now working on putting at least 1,000 electric cabs on the road within the next eighteen months. Old, polluting cabs are to be replaced with the help of substantial subsidies. Climate protection in Athens is also to be strengthened through subsidies for private individuals who buy an electric car. Environmentally friendly driving is made possible by lithium-ion batteries. Around 180,000 tons of lithium were produced worldwide in 2023, a new record. As recently as 2010, global production was around 28,000 tons of lithium.

Lithium is a silvery-white alkali metal that was first isolated in 1855. The largest reserves are in Chile and Australia. As the global demand for lithium is likely to increase significantly over the next few years, lithium producers have a good chance of making lucrative profits. Lithium production is also growing strongly in Argentina. A new legislative package ("RIGI") can now improve conditions for mining companies. In April 2024, lithium production in Argentina was a good 40% higher than in April of the previous year. Overall, Argentina’s lithium production has more than doubled in the last eight years. In 2023, Argentina was the fourth-largest lithium producer after Australia, Chile and China.

Lithium is also present in Targa Exploration’shttps://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/targa-exploration-corp/ – projects (15 in total) in the Canadian provinces of Quebec, Manitoba, Ontario and Saskatchewan.

Century Lithiumhttps://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/century-lithium-corp/ – is represented in Nevada with its promising Clayton Valley lithium project. A positive feasibility study is available.
