The amount of information available today is enormous. In order to understand what a company has in the ground, it is important to know the terms mineral resources and mineral reserves. Mineral resources are usually learned about in the exploration phase of a project. There are the terms "inferred" (time of earliest activities, usually limited exploration), "indicated" (more extensive exploration, shape, depth and strike length are better known) and "measured" (profitability of a deposit can now usually be assessed). Indicated mineral resources can be used for pre-feasibility and feasibility studies. Measured resources are used in late-stage feasibility studies. They are therefore a good indication of what a deposit really contains.
Measured resource values can be converted into proven and probable mineral reserves. Mineral reserves, unlike resources, include only the portion that is economically viable. Probable Mineral Reserves include the percentage of minerals expected to be recovered from the ore, the life of the property and the time required to recover initial capital costs. Proven reserves provide additional information on geological, economic, environmental and other facts and are therefore the most reliable indication of how the project may develop. They represent the final estimate. Other factors such as the financial situation of a mining company, the know-how of the management and whether the project is located in a mining-friendly region are also of interest.
Millennial Potash – https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/millennial-potash-corp/ -, for example, has the best prerequisites. Its potash project is located in mining-friendly Gabon, Africa. The management has already developed potash projects there and a positive pre-feasibility study is available.
In the silver sector, Vizsla Silver – https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/vizsla-silver-corp/ – is pleased with its Panuco silver-gold project in Mexico, which has already produced in the past. This year, the company published an updated mineral resource estimate.
