With biz²Office, document management for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook files from desktop Microsoft Office applications is fully supported by the business logic defined in SAP. Documents are integrated, identified, classified, and posted according to object linking using a document key or document info record. A user-friendly and context-sensitive menu for selecting document types, creating and editing documents, versioning and displaying originals, as well as search functions and storage, significantly eases the user’s work. Full SAP functionality is available, with connections established according to SAP permissions.
The new version offers numerous improvements that significantly enhance performance, stability, and user-friendliness:
State-of-the-Art Technology with MS .Net Framework 4.8
Version 6 of the add-on is based on the latest MS .Net Framework 4.8. This technology shift eliminates the need for additional third-party components, enhancing the solution’s security and reliability. Furthermore, the user experience on high-resolution screens (High DPI) has been optimized, ensuring a clearer and sharper display.
Unified Functionality
Previously divided into two add-ins, the functionality is now consolidated into a single add-in. This leads to a significant improvement in performance and stability during runtime.
Support for “AnyCPU” Target Platform
Wherever possible, our apps and components are created for the “AnyCPU” target platform. This means they are compatible with both MS Office 32-bit and 64-bit versions, further increasing the solution’s flexibility and compatibility.
Private Installation for Enhanced Security
The installation is now carried out as a “Private Installation.” This means all files are installed into the installation directory and its subdirectories, creating a clearer separation from other software. No installation in the System32 directory occurs, avoiding potential conflicts.
Improved SAP Integration
By using the latest SAP .Net Connector 3.1 (64-bit), the SAP logon configuration can be optimally utilized. Additionally, SAP GUI 8 can be used in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. This update ensures seamless integration and improved functionality within the SAP environment.
Additional Feature: Drag&Drop from Outlook to SAP
A separately activatable tool, Drag&Drop for desktop MS Outlook and SAP, is available. Users can directly save entire emails or their attachments as attachments (in SAP DB) or Business Documents (ArchiveLink) in SAP via Drag&Drop.
