The shaft-hub connection using a combination of clamping hub and gearing is particularly advantageous for gearboxes, as it has very little imbalance. It is also ideal for large one-sided torques, but also for changing and shock-like torques. Before the coupling is mounted on the motor shaft, the clamping hub is elastically expanded. The necessary counterpressure is generated by unscrewing the clamping screw against the so-called EASY pin. The coupling can then be easily placed on the shaft and tightened using the hexagon socket. When the motor and gearbox are connected via the lantern, the coupling hub centers itself and is mounted positively on the gear shaft of the gearbox. No further complicated tightening via mounting holes in the lantern is necessary.
The precisely manufactured internal gearing and a full inspection create a very precise connection to the drive shaft. This means that the installation space can be reduced and no further connecting elements are required. An important point in terms of cost-effectiveness. Finally, an optional forced drive ensures reliability and safety in the event of a bellows break due to overload or excessive shaft misalignment. This feature is particularly indispensable for gears for robotics, for example to prevent a robot arm from falling down.
Jakob Antriebstechnik offers the coupling with all common splined shaft gears DIN 5480. Torques of up to 4000 Nm can be transmitted, the maximum shaft diameter is 102 mm.
Other nominal dimensions or special designs are available from the manufacturer on request.
