Rheinmetall invests in the UK to produce and upgrade armoured fighting vehicles, contributing to rebuilding and advancing the UK’s armoured fighting vehicle capability.

Having invested in these on shore capabilities in the UK, Rheinmetall can bring forward technological innovation, product development and export orders from the UK, further sustaining this sovereign capability. These are all key enablers for Governmental inter-defence relationships which creates enhanced interoperability, joint development and procurement programmes and a more comprehensive, resilient supply base resulting in win-win partnerships in a partnership that is mutually beneficial to Rhienmetall and our customers.

Generating Military Advantage

Rheinmetall in the UK has generated sustained military advantage and developed a highly skilled industrial base for Challenger 3 and Boxer whilst providing social value in Telford, Newcastle, Isle of Wight and across its UK supply chain.

Rheinmetall has delivered the advanced technology of the Enhanced Kinetic Energy round to deliver assured overmatch for Challenger 3 and interoperability with other European users of the smoothbore gun; a strong example of the benefits of inter-collaborative approaches to security and defence, especially between UK and Germany.

Additionally, Rheinmetall’s commitment to generating military advantage extends further with the establishment of a centre dedicated to the rapid acquisition of HX trucks, which form the backbone of NATO’s logistics support. This facility enabled the UK to execute rapid acquisitions, ensuring that critical logistics and operational needs are met efficiently, further enhancing the nation’s ability to respond to evolving defence challenges.
