An exciting truck racing season has come to an end, and Kappa optronics is proud to highlight a remarkable journey alongside two exceptional partners: Team Hahn Racing and tankpool24-Racing Team. Throughout this season, we have showcased our cutting-edge digital mirror technology, the Rearview OneBox® which holds great promise for enhancing the racing experience once FIA regulations permit its use.

Leading the Charge in Performance and Safety

While our digital mirrors have not yet been implemented in truck races, they represent a significant advancement in racing technology. By reducing drag, they optimize aerodynamics and enhance fuel efficiency – critical elements in a sport where every millisecond matters. The Rearview OneBox® system offers an expanded field of view and exceptional image clarity, ensuring drivers can navigate their surroundings with confidence, regardless of weather or lighting conditions.

Pioneering Sustainability in Racing

Kappa optronics is dedicated to promoting sustainable practices in truck racing. Team Hahn Racing uses Kappa’s digital mirror system on their innovative Hahn e-Racetruck. This e-truck demonstrates eco-friendly technologies, showcasing the future of sustainable racing.

Successful Truck Racing Season

In this season’s races Jochen Hahn achieved impressive results, including multiple top-three finishes and a thrilling victory at the Circuit Zolder in Belgium, and solidified his position as a top contender in the championship. His exceptional skills earned him the title of European vice-champion 2024 with 25 years of experience and finishing his 850th  truck race in Jarama.

Tankpool24-Racing Team, led by the exceptional Steffen Faas, also celebrated remarkable strides this season. Faas has showcased his skills with several podium finishes, including a notable overall third place in the chrome championship at the seasons finale in Jarama. His consistent performance has kept him firmly in the hunt for the Chrome Championship in a highly competitive field.

The Kappa team joined Team Faas at the Le Mans Bugatti Circuit for the penultimate round of the 2024 Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship and demonstrated the Rearview OneBox® system on a minitruck in authentic Faas Racing look, providing a hands-on experience.

Looking Forward

As the exhilarating season concludes, Kappa optronics eagerly anticipates potential changes in FIA regulations that would allow the use of full digital mirrors in races. The Rearview OneBox® is poised to further enhance the racing experience for professional race drivers as well as passionate enthusiasts in the hypercar, supercar, and race car segments.
