Cement and steel production, for example, causes around five times as many emissions as aviation. The decarbonization of heavy industry will still demand a lot, because it is not easy to achieve. When it comes to copper, China is always the largest consumer. According to its own figures, the economy there grew by five percent. Massive economic stimulus programs were also launched towards the end of 2024 to support the economy. In terms of exports, the Middle Kingdom even set a new nominal record.
