At this year’s European Congress of Radiology (ECR 2025), Ziehm Imaging is going to present its latest innovation for vascular surgery for the first time. The new software package, available as part of the mobile hybrid room solution, supports physicians in their endovascular interventions with planning, navigation and fusion imaging. The market launch will take place directly with the presentation at ECR. First clinical evidence has already successfully been realized at a renowned university hospital.

First Endovascular Navigation1 with image fusion technology integrated into a mobile C-arm

Ziehm Imaging’s hybrid solution based on the Ziehm Vision RFD Hybrid Edition2 has been established successfully in the market for years. For the first time, the function of fusion imaging is integrated into the C-arm, eliminating the need for a separate device. This allows greater ease of use and saves valuable space in the operating room as imaging and intraoperative vascular navigation is now combined into one single user interface.

Greater Precision and Reduced Radiation Exposure

Intraoperative Endovascular Navigation enables physicians to achieve greater precision in demanding hybrid interventions. The combination of preoperative CT data and intraoperative fluoroscopic images provides even more accurate results while reducing radiation dose and contrast agent use. Using artificial intelligence-based algorithms, vascular image fusion is automated and acts fast.

The Endovascular Navigation software is designed for interventions in the aorto-iliac region. It can be used for EVARs as well as for complex interventions such as FEVARs.

Prof. Dr. med. Johannes Kalder from University Hospital of Giessen and Marburg reports:
“We are very proud to be the first in the world to use this groundbreaking new technology on a mobile C-arm. Endovascular navigation allows us to bring planning and fusion imaging to the C-arm and work directly from the sterile field as we are used to. Image quality and workflow improvements are almost equivalent to those of fixed installed systems. We are particularly impressed by the automatic re-registration after changing the position of the C-arm. The savings in procedure time and expected reduction in contrast agent and radiation dose make a real difference for us and our patients in the further course of care.”

A complete new imaging system for Ziehm Imaging’s premium portfolio

On the joint booth with its daughter companies Orthoscan and Therenva, Ziehm Imaging will be presenting further solutions in the field of mobile imaging. All Ziehm Imaging C-arms showcased onsite are part of the premium portfolio CMOSline3 that is elevated with QuantumStream – a completely new imaging system.

The premium portfolio comes with up to 30 kW generator (according to IEC 60601-2-54), the 100 µm pixel size CMOS detector and the first 2k2k image processing. It also features a 4K UHD monitor.

  • With its all-in-one design, the Ziehm Solo FD is one of the most compact C-arms on the market. This product line does not require a separate monitor cart, making it easy to maneuver even in the smallest treatment scenarios.
  • Ziehm Vision RFD 3D covers a wide range of applications, from high-end orthopedics, traumatology and spinal surgery to innovative vascular procedures.

These innovations emphasize Ziehm Imaging’s commitment to advancing mobile imaging technology.

The Orthoscan TAU 2020, a mini C-arm for hand and foot surgery, completes the portfolio. It has the largest detector available for a mini C-arm and a 32” 4K resolution diagnostic touchscreen monitor for exceptional viewing.
