Germany and Switzerland share more than just the Alps, work ethic, and ambition. Precision and power are equally part of it. But what does this have to do with us and the EMV exhibition?

We are eagerly looking forward to the EMV exhibition in Stuttgart, Germany, in March, where we will once again be exhibiting, just as we have for more than a decade already. This year, however, new and special at our booth 602 (Hall C2) is the collaborative exhibition featuring Swiss engineering expertise in technologically advanced power supply solutions provided by REGATRON. Following in the footsteps of Switzerland’s world-renowned precisely moving watches, our close collaboration between ZES ZIMMER and REGATRON now extends to precisely measuring EMC test solutions.

Many of our customers and industry partners in the electronics sector are already familiar with ZES ZIMMER and, in particular, our LMG series precision power analyzers, which play a key role in power measurement and efficiency testing across a wide range of electronic products and systems. However, our in-depth expertise and measurement solutions have long extended to the field of compliance testing, covering aspects such as electromagnetic emissions, immunity, and the energy consumption of electrical devices.

ZES ZIMMER Test Environment for IEC/EN 61000-3 CE Harmonics & Flicker, Energy Consumption, and Standby Power

In line with the EMV exhibition’s focus on electromagnetic compatibility, we will introduce and exhibit our dedicated test environment for the following compliance tests:

  • IEC/EN 61000-3 CE Harmonics & Flicker:
Our LMG600-Series power analyzers fully comply with the standards for harmonic measurements (IEC/EN 61000-4-7) and flicker measurements (IEC/EN 61000-4-15). For performing electromagnetic compatibility compliance measurements in accordance with the current versions of the IEC/EN 61000-3-2/-12 standards for harmonic currents and IEC/EN 61000-3-3/-11 for flicker limitation, we offer a dedicated PC software solution, the LMG Test Suite. With our RI2415 reference impedance, we enable you to perform standards-compliant tests according to IEC/EN 61000-3-3/-11, provided that suitable voltage sources are used.

  • Energy Consumption and Standby Power:
Our LMG600 series also allows standards-compliant testing of energy consumption and standby power using the LMG Test Suite PC software, in accordance with EN 50564 and IEC 62301 standards.

With the above measurement solution, consisting of our power analyzer, reference impedance, and PC test software, we provide a key component for integration into compliance test benches, supporting 1- to 3-phase measurements up to 16A per phase. This ensures maximum flexibility and customization for test bench manufacturers, allowing them to freely select the required peripherals, such as an AC voltage source and rack, according to their specific needs.

ZES ZIMMER and REGATRON United: Comprehensive Compliance Testing According to IEC/EN 61000-3 and IEC/EN 61000-4

Our goal is to provide our customers and all interested parties who rely on the above compliance tests as part of their testing processes and measurement applications with a reliable, user-oriented complete solution, supporting 1- to 3-phase testing up to 75A per phase. This solution primarily benefits manufacturers of electronic devices, including household and industrial products, as well as operators and commissioning engineers of decentralized renewable energy feed-in systems, and certification institutes. To achieve this, we collaborate closely with REGATRON, a company with over 25 years of expertise and profound competence in the development, manufacturing, and distribution of programmable power supplies.

"We have maintained a great relationship with REGATRON for quite some time, both as a supplier of our measurement technology and on a personal level. We work together as equals and recognize each other’s expertise and quality in our respective product segments. I am therefore even more pleased that through this intensified cooperation, we can now address an overlapping user base in the world of EMC compliance testing with a user-oriented, complete test solution. Our joint presence at the exhibition will undoubtedly confirm this to the professional visitors," emphasizes Patrick Fuchs, Head of Business Development at ZES ZIMMER.

Together with our LMG600 series power analyzers and PCT series precision current transducers, REGATRON offers a turnkey test environment for compliance testing according to IEC/EN 61000-3-2/-12, IEC/EN 61000-3-3/-11, and IEC/EN 61000-4-11/-13/-14/-27/-28/-34 EMC regulations. The system is based on REGATRON’s proven 4-quadrant, 3-phase power supply TC.ACS as a grid simulator, which is completed with their latest flicker impedance TC.FLK and the dedicated ACSControl PC software for a comprehensive compliance testing solution. The software provides users with intuitive remote control, data recording, and evaluation of measurement results, featuring signal visualization and automatic test report generation.

“We would like to thank our esteemed partner, ZES Zimmer, for their hospitality and look forward to jointly presenting our turnkey and standards-compliant EMC test solution. We are convinced that the combination of our expertise in measurement technology, power electronics, and system integration provides significant added value for the user. The development of this test solution focused on user-friendly operation and comprehensive analysis capabilities. At the trade show, visitors will have the opportunity to consult with experts from both companies and experience the performance of the test solution firsthand through a fully functional demo system.”, says Samuel Altherr, Head of Sales & Application Engineering at REGATRON

At booth 602, Hall C2, we will be available with expert advice and professional insights to address the interests and questions of the visitors.

We look forward to your visit!
