The HANNOVER MESSE, the world’s most important industrial trade fair for digital transformation, opens its doors again from 31 March till 4 April 2025. At the forefront: the HARTING Technology Group. In keeping with the trade fair’s motto of “Energizing a Sustainable Industry”, HARTING will be presenting technologies for the All Electric Society (AES) – an automated, digitalised and electrified industrial world based on green energy.

How can this vision of a completely electrified world be achieved?

In the All Electric Society, all energy requirements will be met by electricity. The energy for this will be won from renewable resources – such as wind and sun – and converted to electricity. It will then be distributed according to requirements within so-called sectors and across sectors. Accordingly, the prerequisite for successfully implementing the AES is to combine these sectors into one overall system. The sectors in question are mobility, industry, energy, infrastructure and agriculture. This can only succeed with reliable connection and cable technology in place. After all, the lifelines of data and power ensure that data and electricity can flow freely, thereby forming the backbone of sector coupling.

The All Electric Society as a driver of growth

“We perceive major opportunities for growth in the All Electric Society. Thanks to reliable connection technology for transmitting the lifelines of “data” and “power”, we are enabling the vision of an electrified, automated and digitalised world to become reality”, stated Philip Harting, CEO of the Technology Group in Hannover, as he explained the company’s vision of the future: “Connecting the All Electric Society”. During the press conference on HARTING’s stand, he announced that the Technology Group was expecting revenue growth of between 6 and 9 percent in this financial year. In the last financial year of 2023/2024, HARTING’s sales revenue declined to 940 million euros by comparison with the previous year’s result of 1,036 million euros. “The underlying conditions were tough. Given these circumstances, we were able to achieve a good result, especially compared with the market environment. In the meantime, the order intake has risen further. Growth is emanating from the Americas and Asian regions, while Germany and Europe remain weak. The investments planned in Europe and Germany in infrastructure, digitalisation and decarbonisation are therefore the right ones in order to unleash the potential of the All Electric Society”, as Philip Harting goes on to explain, perceiving sustainable growth opportunities for the company in the transmission of the twin lifelines of “electricity” and “data” for realising the All Electric Society.

Technologies for the All Electric Society

At the HANNOVER MESSE 2025, the Technology Group will be focusing on the three AES sectors of energy, industry and mobility.

Energy: At this year’s leading global trade fair for industry, HARTING will be presenting connectivity solutions which support innovative concepts in the energy sector for a climate-neutral future – for example, for renewable energies or hydrogen. Among them are product news such as the ICC20 Single Pole and the Han HPR Single Pole (800A) for energy infrastructure as well as connectors for energy storage systems.

Industry: In industrial applications, the Technology Group will be exhibiting industrial connectors for modern automation systems and networks in production. HARTING’s energy-efficient solutions are crucial for resource-friendly production methods and they facilitate the flexible, modular networking of production systems. One highlight: The live demo exhibit “Robot Automation Line” with the latest connection technology for transmitting data and energy.

Mobility: HARTING is offering innovative solutions for the mobility of the future. At the HANNOVER MESSE, the company will be presenting how these solutions are driving the electrification and further development of infrastructure in the area of e-charging. On Stand C43 in Hall 11, visitors will be able to see the progress made on efficient e-charging solutions live and first hand, as well as the electrification of commercial vehicles and mobile equipment.
