The conveying of gases places very different demands on the compressors used. As an experienced specialist and long-standing industry partner, the RKR Gebläse und Verdichter GmbH a wholly owned subsidiary of AERZEN, knows exactly what the sector and application-specific challenges are and realises customised blower and compressor systems for oil-free gas extraction. With the 2C/3C series, the company offers application-optimised solutions for a wide range of fields of application – be it neutral gases or special gases.
Oil-free conveying of gases
The double and triple stage compressors are based on the screw compressor series 2C/3C and deliver oil-free and free of absorption material process gas in the pressure range of 4 to 17 bar (g) at volume flows of 166 m³/h to 9,300 m3/h. Oil-free operation is vital for many processes and a must in terms of safety, reliability and availability in particularly sensitive areas. However, oil-free operation also means a reduction in costs, as there is no need for complex filter technology and the treatment of oil-containing condensates. This means that additional maintenance work and energy losses due to pressure drops in filters can be avoided. Resources, energy and therefore the environment are preserved.
Maximum safety and availability
The 2C/3C screw compressors fulfil the safety requirements of DIN EN 1012-3 for flammable gases and ensure the best possible system availability. A sealing gas system, which warrants gastightness, and a ductile low-temperature material (nodular graphite grey cast iron) with a high mechanical load-bearing capacity ensure maximum process reliability. Thanks to their optimised design for the operating point, the screw compressors achieve high efficiency through low pressure losses. Another advantage is the easy maintenance and subassembly accessibility. Equipment with ATEX components is possible.
The optimum solution for every application
Depending on the requirements and ambient conditions, air-cooled or water-cooled versions or a combination of both are used. The modular concept guarantees a high degree of functional adaptability for different drive and control concepts and ensures the greatest flexibility when adapting to application-specific requirements and customised process conditions. The modification options are almost unlimited, and range from special motors and special materials to vibrational monitoring and special acoustic hoods or container solutions, for example for outdoor installation, maritime climate, winter operation or earthquake safety.
Heat recovery: utilising energy potential
The oil-free compression of gases generates a large quantity of thermal energy. If this process heat is recovered by means of heat recovery for other operational processes – such as drying processes or heating production facilities – considerable energy savings, emission reductions and cost savings can be achieved. For the 2C/3C series, AERZEN realises customised heat recovery systems that take into account not only the gas application, but the customer’s entire process.
