Kögel Joins the Ranks of BAVARIA’S BEST 50

“This award recognises our achievements in safeguarding and creating jobs, and in delivering sustainable added value for the industry with innovative trailers and solutions built on our passion for transport,” said MD Petra Adrianowytsch after the award ceremony on 23 July 2018, which was held in the stately setting of Munich’s Schleissheim Palace. “It’s testament to the fact that Kögel’s owner Ulrich Humbaur set the company on the right course with a profitable growth strategy when he took the helm in 2009.”

The ministry sets specific criteria that BAVARIA’S BEST 50 contenders must meet. The owner must be a member of the management team, executive board or supervisory board and must hold a certain minimum share. The company must demonstrate above-average growth in turnover and headcount over the last five years, but this has to be largely organic rather than the result of acquisitions. The ministry introduced the award as an incentive for entrepreneurs to take new growth and employment opportunities and to sustain the momentum that this gives them so that they become the backbone of the Bavarian economy. “These are enterprising, responsible companies who create the jobs that underpin Bavaria’s high standard of living.”

An independent jury determines which firms make the Best 50. This year’s awards were adjudicated by auditors and tax consultants Peters, Schönberger & Partners (PSP). Another decisive factor is the Birch Index, whose key indicators are sales growth and employment creation. Taking account of the last five years guarantees that the winners demonstrate sustained development.
