E.ON CFO Marc Spieker explains why E.ON is supporting the exhibition: "For 100 years, the Museum Folkwang has combined art and outstanding civic commitment in an exemplary way. E.ON has also been committed to the museum for 35 years by making major exhibitions possible. By supporting the Museum Folkwang, we are taking responsibility for the community, for a better quality of life, for good togetherness here in Essen."
The connection between E.ON and the Museum Folkwang began with the "Edvard Munch" exhibition sponsored in 1987. Now, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Museum Folkwang, E.ON as the main sponsor is once again making a cultural highlight possible for the city of Essen and far beyond.
Incidentally, there will not only be culture in the museum at the weekend, but also around it. The Museum Folkwang and E.ON are also inviting visitors to a large, 24-hour summer festival from 19 to 20 August. A colourful programme with workshops, readings, thematic tours, artist talks, performances and music awaits the people of Essen.
