Gaseous tritium light sources (GTLS) are located on the numerals and hands of the Argonautic Lumis. They are particularly safe, and guarantee the watch wearer a minimum of fifteen years of constant luminosity – without an external energy supply. The light sources are 66% more powerful than in the preceding DAVOSA model. Moreover, they glow green in the dark; a colour that is particularly easy for the human eye to see in poor light conditions.

Combining the best of the old with the new

The 30ATM water-resistant, 316L stainless steel case of the Argonautic Lumis is equipped with an anti-reflective, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The case proportions that watch aficionados know and love remain unchanged. A screwed valve at 11 o’clock allows the helium gas mixture in the decompression chamber to escape from the case more rapidly after deeper dives. The reworked bezel ring and screw-down crown now boast additional grip and elegance thanks to a finely fluted surface. Three dial variants with wave reliefs are available. The deep black and ocean blue versions are echoed in the colour of the polished, high-tech ceramic bezel inlay. In the silver dial variant, DAVOSA employs a new high-performance material called BEYOND STEEL®, which is on an equal footing with a high-tech ceramic inlay.

BEYOND STEEL®

This high-performance material from DAVOSA exhibits exceptional material properties. It is as heavy as gold (density of 19.3 g/cm³), almost as hard as diamond, and withstands the highest heat. BEYOND STEEL® is practically indestructible, completely resistant to chemical influences, as well as being rust and nickel-free. With a hardness four times that of titanium and twice that of steel.

BEYOND STEEL® is the name that was given to underscore the outstanding properties of this material that go beyond those of steel.

Straps with character

As one of the bestselling models in the DAVOSA collection, the Argonautic profits from a total of three strap alternatives available to the Lumis series: a sporty TriaLink or PentaLink stainless steel strap with diver’s extension or a classic Milanaise strap, which was already popular in the 1960s. Each one gives the Argonautic Lumis a different look. What they all have in common is that they impress in both design and function – above and under water.
