• To drive decarbonization by using natural refrigerants like CO2, ammonia or propane, Kelvion has expanded its industrial air cooler range
  • New pipe system for efficient operation and low refrigerant charge
  • Applicable for refrigeration plants e.g., in distribution centres, storage facilities, supermarkets or food processing

The use of green refrigerants is not new. The first-generation refrigerators built around 1930 already used, amongst others, ammonia which is classified as a “natural refrigerant” today. Together with cabon dioxide (CO2) and hydrocarbons, like propane, it is considered to be a green solution to drive decarbonization. Kelvion has now extended the CS./CB. and CD range with an optimized coil design to meet the demand of natural refrigerant systems.

Green and cost-efficient operation

Today we know that traditional refrigerants like fluorinated gases (f-gases) increase the greenhouse effect hence natural refrigerants will be in greater demand in the future. Natural refrigerants have zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) and negligible global warming potential (GWP) compared to fluorinated refrigerants. Further, they enable cost-efficient operation due to inexpensive refrigerant production and long-term availability. This extension of industrial air coolers builds on Kelvion’s track record in refrigeration know-how and is designed for the demands of natural refrigerants in various applications.

Cubic Air Cooler

Kelvion’s CSF/CBF and CSH/CBH range is the cubic air cooler line with an adapted pipe system to support the demands of low volume systems for CO2 or ammonia.

The range is available from 5.6 up to 175 kW for CO2 and ideally suited for high pressure applications up to 90 bars.

The capacity range for ammonia is from 7.7 up to 224 kW. The range is available as blow and draw through versions. There are different materials to choose from and the wide range of options makes these coolers easily suited to your application.

Dual Discharge Air Cooler

The CDF & CDH ranges are dual discharge air coolers featuring the same capable tube system. They are available from 6.1 up to 125 kW for CO2 and ideally suited for high pressure applications up to 90 bars. The capacity range for ammonia is from 7.9 up to 154 kW.

Both ranges are an efficient line up for general refrigeration plants, like distribution centres, storage facilities, supermarkets or food processing,
