Innodisk is partnering with NVIDIA and Aetina to equip its new factory with AI-powered industrial digitalization and automated inspection. In the process, Innodisk aims to improve the overall efficiency of manufacturing operations. Aetina, a subsidiary of Innodisk and a manufacturer of AI solutions, is partnering with NVIDIA on the project. It aims to use NVIDIA’s Metropolis for Factories platform in combination with Aetina’s GPU-powered SuperEdge AI training platforms to develop and deploy an AI-powered solution to improve the throughput, production quality and cost savings within a factory automation workflow. In doing so, Innodisk’s AIoT solutions are expected to achieve higher quality and better production efficiency while seamlessly integrating hardware and software technologies.

Automated optical inspection (AOI) is widely used in modern manufacturing facilities. However, misjudgments in AOI can sometimes increase the time and labor costs associated with manual reinspection. With AI, manufacturing results can be significantly improved. NVIDIA Metropolis for Factories is a collection of AI workflows for factory automation that enables quality control solutions to be developed, deployed, and managed. In the process, production throughput is improved and costs are saved. NVIDIA Metropolis is integrated with the NVIDIA Omniverse platform. It can be used for AI training to create physically accurate digital twins and simulations that help create rich, synthetically generated training data.

Innodisk leverages NVIDIA and Aetina platforms for Vision AI to improve factory operations. It provides an efficient retesting process within the production line’s AOI systems to automate the testing and optimize operations. The introduction of this solution in its new fab is expected to enable Innodisk to provide additional value to its customers and partners across a wide range of industries.
