TÜV SÜD will showcase its comprehensive service portfolio for a digitalised and sustainable future at Bosch ConnectedWorld 2024 to be held in Berlin on 28 and 29 February. Focus topics of TÜV SÜD’s presence at the conference and exhibition will include solutions for artificial intelligence (AI) and cyber security and for digitalisation in the production and building sectors, as well as a comprehensive training offering.

Digital transformation has become a defining factor throughout all business sectors and almost all sectors of industry. Digital twins of machines, buildings or vehicles enable entirely new approaches to be developed, with key advantages that include the sharing and use of data at different stages in the life cycle of infrastructure and buildings, greater flexibility in changes or conversions and improved risk management. “Current developments in the area of artificial intelligence show that we are at the very beginning of the digital transformation and that there is still huge potential to be tapped”, says Dr Andreas Hauser, CEO Digital Service of TÜV SÜD in Singapore. However, this applies to risks as well as opportunities. “We are continuously working on advancing our services to ensure companies can make the most of the opportunities provided by digitalisation, while minimising the associated risks at the same time”, explains Hauser, and notes, “Nowadays, this also includes aspects of sustainability and ethics that are increasingly required by both society and regulations.“

Services and solutions include modular certification services for smart factories based on digital twins; digital recording and assessment of buildings regarding sustainability criteria, operator duties and compliance with applicable directives; and the use of artificial intelligence in extremely diverse fields of application. “For example, in our TÜV AI Lab – a joint venture between various German TÜV organisations – we are currently working on cross-industry solutions for the assessment of AI applications, as well as collaborating with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Standards Association (IEEE SA) on operationalising the first international standard on AI ethics”, explains Dr Hauser.

However, companies will only benefit from the dynamism and growth opportunities offered by digitalisation if they involve their employees in the transformation. To make sure of this, TÜV SÜD has developed a comprehensive seminar and training offering which will also be presented at BCW.

Lectures and discussions with the involvement of TÜV SÜD

  • Panel discussion on artificial intelligence
On a panel entitled “Creating Value and Trust in the evolving AI landscape”, Dr Andreas Hauser, CEO Digital Service at TÜV SÜD in Singapore, and experts from various areas of AI will discuss how innovation can be successful with the help of trust-building artificial intelligence (AI). The panel will take place on stage A on 28 February 2024 from 3:15 pm to 4 pm.
  • Networking session: Digital twins in production
In the age of Industry 4.0, production systems must be flexible and variable and work autonomously. As connectivity increases, consideration must be given to both functional safety and the IT security of those systems. At a networking session in SAP Arena on 29 February 2024 from 10:15 am to 10:45 am, Michael Pfeifer and Frank Blaimberger from TÜV SÜD will show how this can be effected successfully with the help of digital twins.
