The exciting partnership offers a massive opportunity for both organizations’ customers to leverage Omada’s Omada Identity Suite (OIS) solution alongside STEALTHbits StealthAUDIT and StealthDEFEND to get in control of all their data – not just the structured information contained in databases.
Currently, unstructured data – such as word processing documents, presentations, spreadsheets, photos and webpages – represents approximately 80 percent of all data existing within an organization, and often includes confidential information about customers, strategic business plans, product blueprints and other sensitive or proprietary information.
Further still, when these documents and resources are stored on local file shares, cloud-based file hosting and sharing services and cloud content management platforms the problem grows exponentially resulting in the data being largely ignored due to its complexity and the overwhelming challenge it presents.
But sadly, data privacy regulations, such as the EU GDPR, are not so forgiving, and organizations must get in control of this data to make sure they don’t violate laws or worse still, expose themselves to a breach from either a disgruntled insider or an external hacker.
Having worked with Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) for over 20 years, Omada takes a best-practice approach – known as IdentityPROCESS+ – to access control, helping customers manage users in an all-in-one identity management and access governance solution.
It does this by generating a clear overview of users’ access rights to data and resources outlining which access they have, how they received it, when and why, empowering organizations to manage identities across a heterogeneous and hybrid IT system landscape.
Likewise, since 2001, STEALTHbits has focused on building products to help customers manage and secure access to their IT resources and the business data contained in those systems.
Their StealthAUDIT platform discovers business data in unstructured repositories, analyzes it to see if it is sensitive, and makes changes to remove any unnecessary or high-risk access; with StealthDEFEND adding real-time threat detection and response, customers can be assured that their data is well protected.
Veronika Westerlund Omada VP of Global Channels and Alliances says the integration of STEALTHbits’ data access governance (DAG) solution with OIS means that organizations can become more efficient at improving and maintaining their security and compliance.
“STEALTHbits provides visibility into file shares, online cloud storage, and collaboration solutions which are then used to augment the in-depth visibility and control already provided by Omada,” Veronika says. “Once this data has been profiled, policies can then be applied by OIS to ensure that it is only accessible by relevant individuals – maintained on an ongoing basis.”
“The addition of StealthAUDIT and StealthDEFEND into our reference architecture will enable our joint customers so many new and very exciting scenarios based on file analysis and behavior analytics, including verifying access requests, reviewing access rights and enacting emergency lockouts when breaches occur,” Veronika says.
Adam Laub, SVP of Product Management at STEALTHbits says “We are excited to be partnering with Omada, which is an established market leader in IGA. This integration of Omada OIS and STEALTHbits means that all data, on-premises or in the cloud, can be managed securely and seamlessly from a single platform.”
