PI Ceramic GmbH presents a wide range of piezo technology products at the SENSOR+TEST trade fair. The focus is on various solutions for applications in medical technology, fluidics, ultrasonic measuring technology, or smart metering.

PI Ceramic manufactures miniaturized piezo components in all sorts of variants: Tubes, plates, (semi-)spheres, benders and shear elements, multilayer chip actuators and special shapes. They are predestined for use in the smallest of installation spaces, for example as components in endoscopic imaging processes or in accelerometers.

DuraAct patch transducers can be used as actuators as well as sensors, for example for structural health monitoring of components that are difficult to access. Their greatest advantage: They use the piezo effect to generate energy from the environment and can therefore be used in energy-autarkic systems. This makes the patch transducers particularly suitable for condition monitoring of objects that are difficult to maintain.

One of the product highlights from PI Ceramic at the trade show is a higher refinement of the standard components: Piezo elements with flexible printed circuit boards. Piezo components can be connected electrically in many different ways, often using soldering or gluing. The soldering process in particular requires know-how to avoid production rejects. PI Ceramic takes on this process and attaches flexible printed circuit boards to the customer-specific piezo elements for reliable contacting. Upon request, the design of the circuit boards can be carried out by PI Ceramic. This results in application-oriented, stable, and quickly integrated electronic interfaces.

These and additional piezo components can be seen at the trade show in Nuremberg, Germany from June 25 to June 27, 2019. The PI Ceramic team is happy to consult you on any customer-specific requirements and product wishes.
