TETRA: A radio system that convinces
The system will consist of two TETRA base stations type DIB-R5 advanced. This equipment will enable Chopin Airport to have a high capacity of up to 31 radio channels per base station. In combination with a detailed antenna and repeater network, this will ensure complete coverage of the airport.
The core functions are provided by two redundant TETRA switching nodes with Network Management System (NMS) and voice recording. A further five dispatcher consoles enable the coordination of more than 1000 TETRA radios, including portable ATEX radios for operation in explosive zones.
Step by step migration
During the initial migration period, the new TETRA system will initially be connected to an EDACS (radio communication protocol) system to allow users to gradually migrate from the old system to the new state-of-the-art Hytera ACCESSNET-T IP network. "Reliable voice and data communication is essentia for airports. Our technology is ideally suited for these complex applications and has proven itself many times over. We are very pleased about the trust placed in us and are proud to equip Chopin Airport with an optimal communication system," emphasizes Marco Martinato, VP Sales Eastern Europe.
