(AMSYS GmbH & Co. KG, Mainz, Germany) Corrosion-resistant pressure sensors measuring the differential pressure of two aggressive media are known as wet-wet sensors and frequently used in the chemical industry. The ME800 is such a state-of-the-art sensor in this supreme discipline of pressure sensor technology. A very robust differential OEM sensor for wet-wet applications, the ME800 can measure differential pressures acting in both directions (bidirectional sensor).

The medium comes into contact with a Parylene coating on one side and with the Al2O3 of the membrane with excellent chemical resistance on the other side. Using o-rings the sensor can be easily integrated into valve blocks or similar housings. Thus for differential pressure measurements only one differential pressure sensor is needed instead of two relative sensors. Therefore only one single error has to be considered, which improves the overall accuracy of the system and makes the sensor special.

AMSYS GmbH & Co. KG (https://www.amsys-sensor.com) presents herewith a media resistant differential pressure sensor ME800 providing stable and accurate readings down to 0.4% FS for differential pressures up to 16 bar. More versions for lower pressure ranges (2 bar, 6 bar, 10 bar) are also available. The output signal is the pure, unamplified signal of the Wheatstone bridge, which allows fast response times and flexible integration of the sensor into various applications.

A more sophisticated variant is the ceramic differential pressure sensor ME821 with integrated signal conditioning. This version provides a calibrated output signal of 4 – 20 mA for current loop inputs. The ME821 offers a wide supply voltage range from 9 V to 35 V and can be operated in a temperature range from -25 °C to +85 °C.

Because of its high chemical compatibility, the ceramic sensor ME800 is the preferred choice for applications in medical technology as well as chemical or gas/oil industry. However, this ceramic sensor is also suitable for hydraulics, compressor control or level measurement in closed tanks due to its accuracy and wide temperature range. AMSYS also provides the pressure sensor ME800 with an optional additional PTC for temperature measurement, ideal for external temperature compensation.
