Due to the ongoing pandemic, a renewed l ockdown i s currently forcing companies to comply more closely with hygiene and health regulations. Also, to ensure contact tracing i n the event of an i nfection, the l ogging of presence i n stores, restaurants, or even offices i s becoming even more i mportant than before. To avoid error-prone, handwritten l ists, the German company SENSAPE has developed digital solutions for managing entrances. I n addition to contact tracing, the technologies have now been extended to i nclude fever measurement and were presented at Pro.vention, a trade fair for i nfection protection i n Erfurt (Germany).

"In the current situation, we want to help make contacts more secure," says Matthias Freysoldt, founder of SENSAPE. "To this end, we have developed SENSAPE Q, a virtual queue that works without an app. Customers can spend their waiting time at the place of their choice and are informed i n real-time about their place i n the queue". The company also offers a digital access management system that uses the artificial i ntelligence built i nto the device to recognize at the entrance whether and how a mouth-and-nose protection i s worn. A mirror effect, through which entering persons see themselves, i ncreases the attention. I f the mask i s worn i ncorrectly, the system i ndicates this visually and acoustically and shows the correct fit using a virtual mask. I n addition to functions such as capacity measurement and reminders of hygiene regulations, a contactless fever measurement has now also been i ntegrated. I f the device detects no fever and sees a mask worn correctly but shows no free capacity, customers can j oin the virtual queue on their smartphone using a QR code or reserve a free period of their choice.

People without a smartphone can be provided with a pager for the queue. I f several l ocations are l inked via the software, customers can be shown an optimal route based on distances and waiting times. "With this solution, we want to strengthen the population’s trust i n the protective measures and their compliance with them and enable a safe, relaxed shopping experience. The access management system offers safe entry and, i n combination with the SENSAPE Q, also avoids queuing contacts," says Freysoldt.
